Rite of Acceptance  Today the church accepts the inquirers of our faith as catechumens.  Please keep them in your prayers and ask God to be with them in their search for Him.

 

First Friday Mass & Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament on Dec 2 (Fri).  Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament from 9:00 am to 7:45 pm. Vocations hour at 6 pm, Benediction at 7:45 pm followed by Mass in Cantonese at 8:00 p.m.  Please sign up at the Info Counter.

 

Youth Ministry Sunday - Archdiocesan Collection    The purpose of this archdiocesan collection on Dec 4 (next Sunday) is to assist the work of Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry (“OYYAM”) in providing formation, training and support for youth and young adult ministry.  Parishes with active youth ministry programming will receive a rebate from this collection.  Please be generous in supporting the youth of our parish and archdiocese.

 

English CWL - Inspirational Presentation   “ How do we grow in wisdom?”  When we surrender our plan, miracles happen!  Don’t believe everything you think!  Change your thoughts and you change your world!  Fr. Emmerich Vogt will share the Eucharistic Principles of the spiritual life coming Sat and Sun at 7:00 - 8:30 pm at the parish hall.  This is a free seminar, no monetary involvement, but please bring a notepad for your notes.

 

Ignatian Spiritual Exercises          An introduction to this exercises on Dec 8 (Thu), 7-9 pm; Dec 9 (Fri), 7-9 pm & Dec 10 (Sat), 10 am - 4:00 pm by Fr. The Season of Advent Anticipation and Hope   On Nov 27 (Sun) - the first Sunday of Advent, 4:00 - 5:15 pm at St. Joseph the Worker.  Advent readings, prayers and songs with reflections led by Fr. David Poirer. Followed by refreshments. Voluntary offerings will be accepted to defray the cost of Christmas lights, decor and refreshments.

November All Souls, Remember Also - New 4 “Last Things” for Catholics

1.  Anointing of the Sick.  It is for the seriously sick, or for people who will undergo serious surgery.  Don’t wait until the last minute.  This Sacrament will not automatically send people away from this life, only God will in His own time.

2.  Planned giving.  Leave your legacy for the eternal work of the Church.  Our parish legal title is: “The Archbishop of Vancouver as represented by Canadian Martyrs Parish”.

3.  Catholic Cemeteries.  They are places for, and devotion to, the souls of the faithful departed.  Monthly Mass will be offered for those laid in rest in the Gardens of Gethsemani.

4.  Mass for the soul.  Souls in purgatory will be thirsty for Mass to help them enter into the presence of God.   Remember to arrange Masses offered for you in your will.

 

The Great Adventure - The Gospel of Matthew  Do you know who Jesus is?  How is He related to the Old Testament?  Come with us every Friday to be closer to God in understanding the New Testament.  Classes have just started, please register as soon as possible.  $35 (materials cost).

Annual Solemn Exposition of the Eucharist will be held here from Nov 8-10 (Tue-Thu) 9 am - 12 noon. Please sign up for an hour to pray before the Blessed Sacrament especially for vocation.

 

The Significance of the Eucharist   The Canadian Martyrs Prayer Group presents a talk on "The Significance of the Eucharist" by Fr. Elton Fernandez S.J. on Nov 12 (Sat) at 7:00 pm at the parish hall.  This activity is free of charge and everyone is welcome.
