(1) From age of 14 are bound to abstain from meat.  Those from 18 years to the beginning of their 60th year are bound to fast i.e. no meat with only one full meal be taken.

(2) The Good Friday Collection will be in support of the Christian communities, the Holy Land, the upkeep of the Holy Sites and  the formation of future priests.  Let us give generously and show solidarity to the needs of the Church in the land of Jesus.

Divine Mercy  Sunday - April 15

A Plenary Indulgence will be granted to the faithful for participation in this Feast of Mercy under the following conditions:

1.       Sacramental Confession 8 days prior to or after the Feast Day.

2.       Offer prayers for the intentions of the Pope.

3.       Receive Communion in a state of grace on Divine Mercy Sunday. Sunday Mass fulfills this obligation.

4.       Participate in a special prayer service in honor of the Divine Mercy on that day or at least recite before the Blessed Sacrament an Our Father, The Creed and devout prayer to Merciful Jesus: "Jesus, I trust in You." Divine Mercy Devotion will be held at our Church on Apr 15 (Sun).

40 Days for Life  Our Youth and Young Adult Ministry (YYAM) invite all youths to participate in the "40 Days for Life" pro-life campaign on Mar 18 (Sun) at 2-4 pm.  There will be a group departing our church at 1:15 pm (sharp) or people requiring carpool or alternatively, you may meet the group at the intersection of Heather Street and W. 29h Avenue.  This is a great way of standing up to what Catholics believe in and a sort of sacrifice for this Lenten season.

*         Son of Zebedee, brother of John.

*         Jesus once called him and John “Sons of Thunder”.

*         Called “Greater” because of the importance he receives in the New Testament account of Jesus’ earthly life as compared to St. James the Lesser.

*         Born in Bethsaida

*         Fisherman

*         According to tradition, he went to Spain for evangelization.

*         Died in A.D. 43 at early age 40s,

*         Manner of Death: decapitation.
