First Friday Mass & Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament   Dec 3 (Fri).  Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament from 9:00 a.m. to 7:45 p.m. Vocations hour at 6:00 p.m., Benediction at 7:45 p.m. followed by Mass in Cantonese at 8:00 p.m.  Please sign up for an hour of adoration at the Info Counter.

 

Rite of Acceptance            This Sunday, our RCIA team invites you to participate in this blessed mission of evangelization by helping our 31 catechumens continue their journey of faith.  During their preparation for Baptism, we wish you can support them with your prayers and concern. 

 

Youth Ministry Sunday      The second collection next Sunday is to assist the work of Youth and Young Adult Ministry in our diocese and our parish.  Please be generous.

 

Christmas Party - Theme “Love & Joy”

Dec 19 (Sun) 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. Come to join us in this special program to discover the true meaning of Christmas. 

Free admission but please bring a new pair of men’s socks or used jeans (especially small size) or used jackets (no sweaters or shirts) or used bedding for the charitable work of the Franciscan Sisters of Atonement.  Bring along your non-Catholic friends.  Parish groups who want to take part in it, please contact Info Counter by next Sunday.

 

Christmas Cards    Sending your greetings with religious messages on Christmas card are far better than those without.

 

Christmas Stamp  Choose and use the Madonna and Child Christmas stamp to help reminding others the real meaning of Christmas.

Young Adults, Join the Summit   Eucharistic Adoration - an evening of praise, worship, reflection, reconciliation and adoration.  Catholic Christian Outreach, a national university student movement serving UBC and SFU, host the Summit each month to gather young adults together to encounter Jesus.  Dec 4 (Sat) 7:30 p.m. at St. Paul’s, Richmond.  Joint the CCO this Advent in preparation to welcome Jesus.

 

Pro-life Mass & Vigil.  Peaceful, prayerful vigil for unborn children and their parents.  Saturday December 4, 2010.  9:00 am Mass at St. Edmund’s Parish, 545 Mahon Ave, North Vancouver.  Followed by Vigil at Lion’s Gate Hospital.

7th Annual Advent Vigil for the Silenced   Join us in a silent stand for justice for those who are silenced homeless or pushed out hungry, unemployed and forgotten.  Everyone is invited to join us on Dec 22 (Wed) noon at Cathedral Square (opposite Holy Rosary Cathedral).

Vigil for Life   Archbishop Miller will lead a Vigil for Life on Saturday, Nov 27 at Holy Rosary Cathedral to begin the Advent season with prayers of thanks and protection for human life.  Pope Benedict XVI has asked all the world's bishops to promote the Vigil for Life during the Advent season and to invite the faithful to pray for the unborn.  The vigil will include Eucharistic adoration and will start at 7:00 p.m.

 

Mass for the University Students     Archbishop J. Michael Miller, CSB, cordially invites all college and university students including faculty to the Mass at Holy Rosary Cathedral on Sunday, Nov 28, at 2:30 p.m.  Confessions will be available at 1:45 p.m. and a reception will follow at Holy Rosary Hall after the Mass.  Visit www.oyyam.com.

 

Question Time with the Archbishop   Join the UBC Catholic Campus Ministry at St. Mark's College, the Newman Club, the Knights, UBC Korean Catholic and UBC CCO as we grill Archbishop J. Michael Miller again!!  Nov 24 (Wed) at 6:00 p.m.  Hot on the heels of last year's huge crowd, they invite all students and young adults to join them for a potluck dinner, followed by a  Question and Answer with the Archbishop.  Bring an international dish to share and think up some great questions as we Dish with the Bish?

Clergy Study Week   Fr. Chu will join other priests from Tuesday to Friday for their annual study.  There will be daily morning Mass on Mon & Tue (15th & 16th) and Friday (19th)as usual.  Communion service will be held on Wed & Thu (17th & 18th).  Please keep your priests in your prayer.
