Remembrance of All Souls  November is the month to remember all our departed family members, brothers & sisters and friends.  Please pick the “All Souls Day Remembrance” envelopes and drop into the collection basket during mass or return to parish office. One mass per envelope will be offered except indicated.

 

Peter’s Pence  The second collection this Sunday is for the charitable work of the Holy See.  Visit vatican.va for its history.  Please be generous.

 

Knights of Columbus

Charity Appeal        Tickets sales after Mass at $2 each.  Lots of prizes.

 

White Ribbon Against Internet Pornography We thank all who supported the “White Ribbon of Signatures” campaign last Sat and Sun.  We were happy to collect 738 signatures which will be sent by CWL to Members of Parliament addressing our concern about the proliferation of internet pornography.

 

Project Advance    We are only $6,654 short of our goal.  Have you participated yet?  Please pledge in parish office during office hours.  Every gift makes a difference - every gift counts.

 

Bequest    Our legal title is “Roman Catholic Archbishop of Vancouver as represented by Canadian Martyrs Parish”.

 

Rectory Redevelopment        Structure of the rectory has been framed.   Please keep the project in your prayer and donation is still welcome. 

 

PARISH REGISTRATION   We encourage newcomers and families (especially those with children in our catechism class) to register at our parish. Those who have changed address or telephone number, please update it through Info Counter or Parish Office.

 

Parish Community Activities

 

Mandarin Conversation Class teaching daily speaking skill and vocabulary.  Every Saturday, 11:30a.m.-12:30p.m. Please register in advance at parish office in the morning.

Archdiocesan Stewardship Conference  on Nov 12 (Fri) and Nov 13 (Sat) at St. Helen’s Church in Burnaby.  Opening presentation by Archbishop Miller, and Rev Brendan McGuire from San Jose will be the keynote speaker.  Register at www.rcav.org/stewardship.  Call 604-683-0281.

 

Mass for the University Students      Archbishop J. Michael Miller, CSB, cordially invites all college and university students including faculty to the Mass at Holy Rosary Cathedral on Sunday, Nov 28, at 2:30 p.m.  Confessions will be available at 1:45 p.m. and a reception will follow at Holy Rosary Hall after the Mass.  Visit www.oyyam.com.

Real Faith for Real Women”    Nov 20 (Sat) at All Saints Parish Hall in Coquitlam.  This one-day retreat begins with Mass at 9:00 a.m. and wrap-ups at 3:30 p.m.  Also, there is an Evening Cabaret 7:00 - 10:00 p.m., open to men and women.  Tickets are $49 (includes day and evening) or $20 for evening only.  Tickets available at Joyful Noise Bookstore 604-521-4569 or contact Debbie Sergent at 604-220-4520.
