First Holy Communion      

Please pray for our PREP Grade 2 students who will receive Christ in the First Holy Communion this Sunday at 11:45 a.m. Mass. 

 

Angels  Two worshipping angels have been donated to our parish.  They are stationed beside the tabernacle reminding us to adore Christ who is truly present in the Eucharist.

 

Pro-Life Sunday     A special collection will be taken next Sunday (Jun 17) to help pro-life organizations in the Archdiocese.  The proceeds support local Pro-life/Right to Life groups, Birthright, Crisis Pregnancy Centers, Campaign Life Coalition, anti-euthanasia groups and University pro-life groups.  Thank you for your generosity.

 

Finance Report 2011    It is posted on the bulletin board by our Finance Council.  Please contact parish office if you have any question.  Thank you for your support.

 

PREP Registration   Children Catechism PREP in English classes for Gr 1-7 will start on Sep 12 (every Wed) from 7 - 8:15 pm.  Registration form is available at Info Counter.  Early Bird (before Jun 30) has discount  $20.

 

Annual Retreat   Fr.  Paul will be on retreat from Jun 11  to 14.  Please pray for our priests.

 

Project Advance 2012 ~ Sharing with Joy

 

-        Parish goal: $168,000, of which $39,000 goes to the Archdiocese and $129,000 for debt repayment.

-        Suggestion: $432 for each family or $36/month for 12 months.
Even though our volunteers are not here after Mass, our pledge will continue.  Please:-

Father's Day Luncheon   Any plans on Father's Day?  Come and join our Father's Day Luncheon on Jun 17 (Sun) 11:00 a.m. at our Parish Hall.  Tickets are available after Mass.  Three-course menu for $16.

 

PLEASE DO NOT WEAR   Tank tops, hats/caps, sleeveless, low cut, belly-showing, shorts, mini-skirts, slippers/flip-flops when you come to Mass.

Ladies, Please Pray for our Men  is sponsored by the Archdiocesan Office of Evangelization.  800 men will gather at St. Mary's Parish on Jun 15 (Fri) to hear a presentation on Catholic manhood by Fr. Larry Richards, author of bestseller "Be a Man".  An opportunity for confession will follow.  All women are invited to attend the vigil at Corpus Christi to intercede for the men, starting with Mass at 7 pm followed by Rosary and silent prayer until 9:30 pm.  Your presence is welcome for some of the vigil if you cannot attend the whole evening.  Visit www.rcav.org/evangelization.

 

Father's Day Movie The Canadian Chinese Marriage Encounter Association will present the movie "Courageous" on Jun 16 (Sat) 1:30 - 4:30 pm at St. Francis Xavier Church.  Refreshment, sharing and discussion (in English, Mandarin and Cantonese) facilitated by Sr. Cecilia Hong.  All fathers are invited with their family.

Searching in the Spirit   Our annual post-Confirmation training event, will take place from Jul 3 - 7, Tuesday through Saturday, at Camp Jubilee at the base of Mt. Seymour.  This event is for youth ages 12 & 13 who will have been confirmed by this Summer.  It provides youth and adults with formation in discipleship, and challenges participants to live out their faith values in everyday, real-life situations.
