First Friday Mass & Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament   Nov 5 (Fri).  Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament from 9:00 a.m. to 7:45 p.m. Vocations hour at 6:00 p.m., Benediction at 7:45 p.m. followed by Mass in Cantonese at 8:00 p.m.  Please sign up at the Info Counter. Divine Mercy Devotion  at 7:20 p.m.  Prayer intentions to be offered during the Devotion at 8:00 p.m. Mass.

 

ROSARY    October is the month of the Rosary.  You are invited to say Rosary together. Please come 25 minutes before every Sunday Masses (except 8:15 a.m.).

 

Remembrance of All Souls  November is the month to remember all our departed family members, brothers & sisters and friends.  Please pick the “All Souls Day Remembrance” envelopes and drop into the collection basket during mass or return to parish office. One mass per envelope will be offered except indicated.

 

White Ribbon Against Pornography    Our parish’s Catholic Women’s Leagues (English and Chinese) will be promoting the White Ribbon of Signatures Campaign on Oct 23 & 24 (Sat & Sun).  Please support the national campaign by signing your name and postal code on the ribbon. The ribbon will be sent to Members of Parliament addressing our concern about the proliferation of internet pornography.

 

Knights of Columbus Charity Appeal Tickets sales after Mass at $2 each.  Lots of prizes.

 

Rectory Redevelopment 

Structure of the rectory has been framed.  

Please keep the project in your prayer and donation is still welcome. 

 

Respect for Neighbours      Please keep clean when you park along Garrison Road and do not block their driveways. Please lower your volume when you talk in our parking lot in the evening.

 

Halloween Candy Appeal - Agape    Agape Street Ministry invites you to share your Halloween Candy with them.  Each year they have over 50,000 street encounters with a little bag of assorted candies and prayer card inside.  Please drop off your candy at the parish office.  Need volunteer hours?  Come and help us pack candy bags on Oct 29 (Fri) from 7-10pm in Room H.

 

Project Advance    We are only $6,654 short of our goal.  Have you participated yet?  Please pledge in parish office during office hours.  Every gift makes a difference - every gift counts.

Parish Community Activities

 

Mandarin Conversation Class teaching daily speaking skill and vocabulary.  Every Saturday, 11:30a.m.-12:30p.m. Please register in advance at parish office in the morning.

 

Bequest    Our legal title is “Roman Catholic Archbishop of Vancouver as represented by Canadian Martyrs Parish”.

 

Annual Mass for Deceased Bishops, Priests and Religious at Holy Rosary Cathedral, Nov 4 (Thu) at 12:00 noon.  All parishioners are most welcome.  Kindly remember in your prayers this month those who have laboured for the Church in Vancouver - and pray that the Lord will send more dedicated men and women to continue their work.

Grade 7s... Here’s your Opportunity   Spirit Day is designed for Grade 7 students.  It will be held on Nov 6 & 7 (Sat & Sun) at Chandos Pattison Auditorium, Surrey.  This event will get participants excited about receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation, and awaken the Holy Spirit in young and old alike!  Sessions include testimonies, games, music, skills, prayer, food, Mass and much more.  More information at www.rcav.org-News and Events.
