Ash Wednesday (Mar 9)

 

Collection of Palms     The parish is collecting your palm leaves of last year for preparation of ashes. Please put them into the box provided.

 

Mass with Distribution of Ashes at 8:30 am and 7:30 pm (both in English).

 

Day of Fasting and Abstinence   Catholics from age 14 are bound to abstain from meat. Those from 18 years to the beginning of their 60th year are bound to fast i.e. no meat with only one full meal be taken.

 

First Friday Mass & Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament   Mar 4 (Fri).  Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament from 9:00 am to 7:45 pm. Vocations hour at 6 pm, Benediction at 7:45 pm followed by Mass in Cantonese at 8:00 p.m.  Please sign up at the Info Counter. Divine Mercy Devotion at 7:20 pm.  Prayer intentions will be offered in the Mass.

 

Permanent Diaconate   Archbishop Miller has announced the restoration of the permanent deaconate in our archdiocese.  Candidates will attend formation program and age below 65 at the time of ordination.  Information meeting will be held later.  Please keep this in your prayer.

Pope John Paul II  Sunday, May 1 - Divine Mercy Sunday and the Beatification of John Paul II.  Eucharistic Celebration at 2:30 p.m. at the Holy Rosary Cathedral followed by a reception in Rosary Hall.  More details soon.

 

Pro-life Mass & Vigil   Peaceful, prayerful vigil for unborn children and their parents.  Archbishop Michael Miller, CSB will celebrate Mass at St. Patrick’s Parish, 2881 Main Street, Vancouver on Mar 5 - 9 am followed by Vigil at Women’s Hospital.
