Commissioning of Catechists    This Sunday, we pray and commission our catechists to work for the Lord in our parish.  Please support them in your prayers.

Adult Catechism (RCIA) 2011-2012

For inquirers and Catholics preparing for confirmation.

In Cantonese from Sep 14 (every Wednesday) 7-9 p.m.

In English from Sep 15 (every Thursday) at 7-8:30 p.m.

In Mandarin from Sep 17 (every Saturday) 3-5 p.m.

 

PREP for 2011-12   for Grades 1-7 every Wednesday from 7:00 - 8:15 pm.  Classes will begin on Sep 14.  Financial assistance is also available on request.

 

Let's Live our Faith! All secondary school students are encouraged to attend our parish youth faith formation program (YFFP).  Registrations are still being accepted. Please note that the Welcome and Information Night (with parents) has been rescheduled to Sep 12 (Mon) at 7:00 pm in Rooms A & B.

 

"We are the World" - A celebration of our diversity  The Catholic Women's League invites all to join an evening of food, music & entertainment on Oct 1 (Sat) 6:30 pm - 10:00 pm in the Parish Hall. Ticket $25 are available after Mass.  All funds raised will go to the Parish Rectory Reconstruction, Seminarian Fund and Charities (local and global).

 

Liturgy of Word for Children    will resume next Sunday (Sep 18).  Parents are encouraged to send their children to this liturgy service during Mass.

 

Parish Pastoral Council     will be held on Sep 16 (Fri) 7:30 p.m. at Room A & B.  Please send at least one representative from each parish group.

 

Life in the Spirit Seminar    Chinese session will start on Sep 15 (Thu) at 7:30 pm.  Please call Elvis at 604-838-7728.

 

Serving the Lord      Altar Server must have received First Communion and in Grade 4 or up.  A Minister of Hospitality must be confirmed.  Leave your name, telephone number and email address at the Info Counter or the Parish Office.  Training will be provided.  Serve the Lord and fulfill your Sunday obligation at the same time.

The Annual Conference of the Catholic Health Association of BC               will be held at Executive Plaza Hotel in Coquitlam on Sep 15 (Thu).  Theme is "The Things We Do for Love" with keynote speaker Sr. Sue Mosteller, CSJ.  Mass with Archbishop Miller.  Registration at chabc.bc.ca or 604-524-3427.

 

Advance Care Planning     Legislation was enacted on Sep 1 governing advance care planning in BC.  Our regional health authorities have developed a very good tool for this purpose called "My Voice".  However, it does not address end-of-life care and treatment from a Catholic perspective.  The Catholic Health Association of BC has developed an advance care planning resource specifically for Catholics.  It is available from CHABC by calling 604-524-3427 or by sending an email request to smhouse@shawlink.ca.

 

Heaven on Earth?  The Future of Spiritual Interpretation on Sep 16 & 17 (Sat & Sun) hosted by Regent College in cooperation with the Centre for Catholic-Evangelical Dialogue (CCED), brings together numerous renowned Catholic and evangelical scholars including Dr. Scott Hahn. Theology of the Body         is Pope John Paul II's teaching on love, life and human sexuality.  Fr.
